Water To Gas – Is It Possible?
Without a doubt, water is the best inexpensive and widely available substitute solution to the rising gas prices in the market today. The United States government has recently posed a challenge to US citizens to drive hydrogen-powered cars as soon as possible and has reserved well over a billion dollars for research into how it can be done. That challenge gave birth to many processes that have been brought to the public’s attention – some which are very effective, some nothing but a mere scheme to bait gullible people. Though regardless of the motives, good or bad, there are in fact many different methods to breaking down ordinary water into oxygen and hydrogen.
It’s good to know that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to have a vehicle utilize water to gas technology. Oddly, it doesn’t cost a billion dollars to develop. That becomes possible because existing engines in our cars could work with these processes with very little or minimal modifications to the system.
But how does the water to gas system work? It begins with the idea that everyday water is actually a ‘battery’ that holds vast amounts of energy – most notably, hydrogen energy. Water, in reality, is two parts hydrogen combined with one part oxygen, so it’s left to the imagination how it holds a huge amount of energy and has nothing to do with the amount of energy it needs to break down the molecule. Water to gas is, definitely a program with extended longevity (that needs a lot of research) but really, who can tell it might yet hold the answer to the current oil hike up dilemma.
